TCD were awarded the Broome North Wastewater Treatment Plant 80ML Storage Dam No. 2 works in June 2023, with an aggressive construction timeline requiring the bulk of the works to be completed ahead of the 2023 northwest wet season.

Key Deliverables:
  • 60,000 m³ of bulk and detailed cut to fill earthworks, imported compacted gravel crest and external embankment rock protection works
  • 35,000 m² of bituminous geomembrane (BGM) liner installation
  • 300 m³ of concrete spillways and BGM tie-ins
  • Supply, installation and commissioning of interconnecting pipework and valves between existing Storage Dam No. 1 and new Storage Dam No. 2
  • Supply and installation of 15 anchored egress nets
  • Installation of 3 specialist sonic drilled piezometer bore holes
  • Installation of concrete kerbing and perimeter security fencing

TCD was contracted for the supply, installation and commissioning of dewatering infrastructure as part of Rio Tinto’s GNAM BSP Abstraction Strategy.

Key Deliverables:
  • Install and commission 13 dewatering bores across LensAB, LensCD and LensEF
  • Construct temporary water storage (2× 1ML MEGAMAX tanks) and permanent storage (5ML Turkey’s Nest) at LensEF
  • Install pipelines, valves, fittings, supports and associated infrastructure
  • Install and commission 6× VSG dewatering trailer packages and 5× VSD headwork packages
  • Integrate all systems into SCADA/Wonderware
  • Earthworks, excavations, backfilling and surface restoration
  • Widen pipeline corridors and establish laydown areas
  • Decommission and remove redundant infrastructure

TCD was engaged to deliver essential infrastructure upgrades within the pit area, enabling Rio Tinto to meet below water table (BWT) mining requirements and maintain Saleable Ore Product (SOP) targets.

Key Deliverables:
  • All works conducted within the operational pit, adhering to strict safety, environmental and quality standards
  • Installed 5 dewatering abstraction bores within the pit, each equipped with flexible risers and VSG trailers
  • Commissioned Variable Speed Generator (VSG) trailer units and SCADA integration for real-time data acquisition and control
  • Installed pipe droppers to connect new bores to existing pipeline network
  • Polywelded and commissioned HDPE pipelines including tie-ins to existing infrastructure

Flying Fish Village to Ren Bore Pipeline project for Fortescue in Pilbara, WA — TCD Group

TCD were engaged by Fortescue to install a new bore pump into an existing hole and HDPE pipeline to provide raw water supply to the new Flying Fish Village upgrade. The raw water will be treated onsite to provide potable water for the village.

Key Deliverables:
  • Earthworks: clearing and removal of topsoil, pipeline burials, bore pad and windrow covering
  • Installation of 2,050m of DN110 PN12.5 HDPE coiled pipe
  • Installation of associated mechanical fittings
  • Bore infrastructure: pump, VSD skid, generator and fuel pod
  • Testing and commissioning of new pipeline and bore to design system requirements
