As part of Fortescue’s commitment to achieve real zero emissions by 2030 through renewable energy generation, TCD was contracted to construct a permanent base/camp supporting wind turbine operations, initially accommodating 350 people with future expansion capacity to 950.
Key Deliverables:
- Vegetation clearing, grubbing and stockpiling for camp pad construction with 13,000 m³ cut to fill
- Grading and repairing 2,000m of access tracks and pipeline corridors
- Excavation, welding, pressure testing, installation and backfill of 750m of HDPE pipeline into a service trench
- Clearing and grubbing of firebreak around camp pad
- Construction of perimeter v-drains and windrows
- Demolition of redundant concrete structures and tanks including controlled removal of hazardous waste
- Clearing and topsoil grubbing for a new spray field
