TCD delivered water management infrastructure at Rio Tinto’s West Angelas Mine, focusing on the Centre Pit South (CEPS) area. The project involved repurposing a disused mining void into a temporary in-pit water storage facility to manage surplus dewatering volumes. Our scope covered the supply and installation of discharge and extraction pipelines, valve stations, and associated civil and electrical works to integrate with the existing mine water transfer lines. Our team executed the works within an active mining environment, coordinating closely with site operations to maintain safety and continuity. We performed extensive earthworks, including clearing and trenching for the pipeline corridor, and installed HDPE pipelines with air relief and scour valve assemblies. The construction approach included setting out survey points, pouring concrete foundations for valve stations, and installing solar-powered telemetry skids for remote control. We completed flushing, hydrostatic testing, and commissioning to ensure the system was fully operational for the storage and extraction phases.
