We constructed the foundational earthworks for Dam 3 at the KCGM site in Kalgoorlie, a key component of Northern Star Resources' water management infrastructure. The scope involved preparing the dam footprint, including excavation, remediation of surface cracking, and the construction of embankments and liner subgrades. This work established the structural base for the water storage facility, ensuring stability and compliance with site-specific geotechnical requirements. Our approach focused on precise setting out and controlled earthworks, including clearing, grubbing, and topsoil stripping. We managed the excavation and placement of fill materials, adhering to strict compaction and quality control standards. The works included the installation of geosynthetics and the preparation of anchor trenches to secure the dam lining. Additionally, we supported the enabling works for associated switchroom infrastructure, ensuring the site was prepared for subsequent mechanical and electrical installations.
