We delivered earthworks and civil construction for a new sedimentation basin at the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project in the Pilbara. The basin was built within the Mundagoora Pool catchment to capture stormwater and potential leachate runoff from the ROM B landform, mitigating environmental impacts on a site of significant heritage and ecological value. Our approach prioritised sediment control during construction, including the early establishment of a sedimentation management plan and the installation of control fencing across the lower catchment. We executed bulk earthworks, foundation preparation, and fill placement using GPS-controlled plant to achieve design levels. The works included the construction of embankments, geotextile installation, and rock protection layers to ensure the structural integrity and long-term performance of the basin.
