We delivered a significant upgrade to the Coral Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant, focusing on the construction of a new Evaporation Pond No. 2 and associated civil works. The project involved extensive earthworks to form the new pond basin, including excavation and fill to precise levels. We installed a geomembrane liner system with anchor trenches to ensure containment integrity, alongside a series of concrete culverts linking the new pond to the existing infrastructure. The scope also included a new access ramp, a gravel hardstand area for geobag laydown, and a concrete spillway with rock pitching to manage overflow from the existing pond. Our approach prioritised structural stability and environmental compliance in this coastal setting. We managed the installation of the liner and associated pipework for the filtration system, ensuring integrated integration with the existing plant operations. Additionally, we performed necessary repairs to the geosynthetic clay liner in Pond No. 1, including dewatering and seam re-bonding, while widening vehicle turning bays and gravel roads to improve site access. The works were completed with a focus on long-term durability and operational efficiency for the Water Corporation.
