We delivered surface water management solutions at FMG’s Cloudbreak Mine Site in the Pilbara, focusing on the Big Garden and Kangaroo Haul Road areas. The project involved the installation of a series of corrugated steel pipe (CSP) culverts to control water flow and support ongoing mining operations. Our scope included extensive earthworks, drainage construction, and the preparation of haul road infrastructure to accommodate these new water management structures. Our approach centred on precise set-out and excavation for the culvert trenches, followed by the installation of CSP sections and concrete stormwater facilities. We managed the placement of backfill and stabilised fill to ensure structural integrity, while also constructing light vehicle windrows and performing stream training works. The project required careful coordination of vegetation clearance, topsoil management, and rock protection to safeguard the site against erosion and flooding risks.
