When BHP was using NRW to build their Port Hedland Inner Harbour Project, NRW called on our expertise to install culverts and underground services. The project was a combination of culverts and concrete works, as well as significant formwork on tight deadlines.
For the Mooka Drainage culvert works, we installed DN450 and DN600 culverts, which included excavations and prep work, and the install of cement slabs and rock armour, to ensure these works were more than up to the task.
The Finucane Island Underground Services required 3 km of trenching, with backfill and compaction of PVC conduit, and the connection to liners and pits with trafficable lids.
The Finucane South Creek Culverts component required a different approach. The existing CSP’s were excavated and removed, then prep works for the new RCB culverts were installed, which included concrete base slab and end treatments such as aprons, headwalls, wingwalls and cut off walls.
