Community

At TCD Group, we believe in fostering Common Unity—bringing people together through shared purpose and support.

Giving Back to Our Communities

For nearly four decades, we’ve worked to strengthen the regions where we operate, investing in initiatives that uplift and connect our communities. We proudly sponsor local sports, not for recognition, but because we see it as a powerful builder of community spirit. It’s where kids learn resilience, teamwork, and values that shape their futures—lessons that echo beyond the field. Beyond sport, we back causes that align with our mission to help others help our communities, supporting those who make a tangible difference. Our approach is simple: we contribute where we can inspire unity and growth, reflecting the same dedication we bring to our projects. By nurturing these bonds, we aim to create a legacy of strength and opportunity across Western Australia.

The Big Dig — zero2hero

Every year, teams from across WA’s construction industry pick up a shovel and dig — for 24 hours straight.

The Big Dig is a fundraiser for zero2hero, a WA charity delivering preventative youth mental health education programs to young people across the state. Teams compete to move the most dirt in a 1-metre-deep trench over a full 24-hour period, with every dollar raised going directly to zero2hero’s work.

We’ve had a TCD team in the trenches for three years running. It’s hard graft — the kind our crews are built for — and it goes to a cause that matters. Mental health is a real issue in construction and mining, and zero2hero’s programs are helping the next generation build the resilience to handle it.

In 2025, The Big Dig raised over $157,000 — a record year across the board. More teams, more diggers, more sponsors, and more families on site than ever before.

We want to thank every one of our people who gave up their own time to get out there and dig. Volunteering 24 hours of your weekend for a cause like this says a lot about the kind of people we have at TCD, and we’re grateful for it.

We’re proud to stand alongside the other contractors and industry bodies that make this event what it is. It’s one of the best examples of our industry coming together for something bigger than the job.

Perth Wildcats

They are one of Australia’s most successful teams, but their true legacy lies in their commitment to the community. Highly regarded in WA, they dedicate time to supporting local basketball, visiting schools, mentoring kids, and running holiday programs. Our sponsorship helps them continue to inspire and give back.

Cockburn Cougars

TCD is proud to be a major sponsor of the Cockburn Cougars, a cornerstone of community spirit in Western Australia. Through their award-winning programs, like Aussie Hoops, and competitive NBL1 teams, the Cougars unite families, nurture young talent, and promote inclusion. Their commitment to skill development and community engagement inspires us. Supporting this vibrant basketball family reflects our dedication to fostering growth, resilience, and connection in the regions we serve.

McGovern Foundation

TCD is proud to be supporting the McGovern foundation and its mission to provide mentoring and supervised driving to those that don’t have the means, to obtain their drivers licence.  The McGovern Foundation commenced operating in July 2021 with a bold vision to address the widespread inequity and barriers for disadvantaged people to obtain and maintain their driver’s licence.  The McGovern Foundation identified the need for a specifically targeted driver mentor program that eliminates all barriers and creates a stream of mentored, mobile, and employable people to strengthen the workforce and community.
